Curry Leaf Chutney

I have not figured out yet where I can find fresh curry leaves. I am sure people grow them somewhere, but they are nowhere to be found at the market. When I went to Surat, I came back with a bagful of curry leaves. I was afraid they would dry up and go bad, and I happened to find this recipe for curry leaf chutney. I served this chutney with moong, roti and onion raita. Tasted great because the flavors are similar to kadhi.

1 cup curry leaves
1/4 cup shredded coconut
5-6 green chillies
4 cloves garlic
Salt per taste
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp asafoetida

All you do is blend the above ingredients together in blender. Add some water to get it at the thickness consistency you prefer. You may also add cilantro and make this into a cilantro-curry leaf chutney or just replace the curry leaves with the cilantro
. Yummy!
