Eggless Masala French Toast

For breakfast, I tried making French toast the desi way- eggless and with tons of masala! If you decide to try it out, watch out because it can get messy! The end product is worth it, though.

6 slices bread with crust removed
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 cup soji
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tbsp red chili pepper
1 tbsp coriander powder
1" piece of ginger, grated
Salt to taste

1. Whisk all the above ingredients together to for a thick batter. I added a little bit of water because it made it easier to spread on the bread slices.
2. Remove the cores of the bread slices. Then, cut the bread slices in diagonal shapes.
3. Dip bread slices into masala mixture. You may also find it easier to just spread the mixture on one side of the slice. LAy the masala side down on the griddle so you can spread the other side. (If dipping, do not leave the bread slice in the masala mixture for too long or else it will turn soggy and break! Just dip quickly and turn over.)
4. Heat up a griddle. Drizzle a little oil on bottom and lay a few slices of masala toast. Once one side is done, turn over to cook other side.
5. Serve hot with ketchup.

The eggless masala french toast was very good. Who would have thought?!?
