Light Lunch: Sev Bhaji

We ate chilli cheese toast sandwich for breakfast again, and we ate kind of early. So I decided to make a sev bhaji as a light lunch. I used packaged masala sev that we bought from the market for the topping. It turned out absolutely delicious!

2 tomatoes
1/2 onion
1 cup of frozen green peas
1/2 cup water
1" piece of ginger, ground into paste
2-3 cloves of garlic ground into paste
2 green chillies ground into paste
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
Pinch of asafoetida powder
Pinch of turmeric powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2-3 handfuls of packaged sev
Cilantro for garnish

1. Heat up some oil in pot. Add in the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once they fully splutter, add onions and ginger-garlic-green chilli paste.
2. Sautee for a minute or two until onions get translucent. Then, add the dry powders (asafoetida, turmeric and coriander powders). Also, add in the tomatoes and green peas into pot.
3. Then add the red chilli pepper, sugar, salt and water and let it all come to a boil on medium heat.
4. Once the peas are fully cooked, add in the chopped cilantro. I turned the heat off and then add a few handfuls of packaged sev. We ate it immediately so it was fine. But for a bit of a crunch, add in the sec when serving.
5. You can also add a dash of lemon juiceto the sevbhaji. I will try that next time!

Tomorrow's Menu:
Breakfast: Bread Bhel Puri (using day old bread)
Dinner: Vagarli Khichri, Curry, and Kandabatakanusak
