Good Ole Bhel Puri

When in doubt, make bhel puri. I found this packet of Haldiram's Bhelpuri at the market and I thought we would try it out. The packet contains the basic chevro mix along with a dry packet of the tamarind chutney and sev. You basically just build the bhel puri by soaking the tamarind mixture with water for a few minutes. Then mixing all three together. I also chop up some onions to garnish.

It's a great after work snack or you can eat it for breakfast!

  1. Dipti - I just discovered your cooking blog and I love it! If you have a recipe in mind that an inexperienced Indian cook could make, let me know. I love to cook but have never attempted an Indian recipe.

  2. Andrea,

I am so happy to hear that someone is reading this blog! I am somewhat of a beginner as well, but I think watching a video where you can see the step by step method would be very helpful. Go to www.manjulaskitchen.com and on the left side, under Videos and Recipes, click Expand All, and you will find all of her videos. You could try the Rajma Chawal (Kidney Bean Curry under Dal heading) and Roti (under Breads heading). She makes it looks so easy! Let me know how it works out!
